Executive summary of a unique joint poll on voters’ attitudes about the California economy and business climate conducted by the California Business Properties Association and the California Tribal Business Alliance

In a unique joint poll conducted by the California Tribal Business Alliance and the California Business Property Association, California voters reveal that they are pessimistic about jobs and the state’s business environment, and they believe the state must place more emphasis on small business development. The poll also found that while voters generally recognize that the state needs to invest in such public infrastructure as highways, bridges, schools and levees, they reject a $32 billion infrastructure bond as the solution by a 52 percent to 43 percent margin. California Tribal Business Members Adopt Responsible Gambling Policy

The California Tribal Business Alliance, in recognition of National Problem Gambling Awareness week, announced today a responsible gambling policy for the casino operations of the six California Indian tribes who are members. The policy covers protections for patrons with a gambling problem, availability of problem gambling assistance, casino advertising standards, underage gambling, service of alcoholic beverages, and employee awareness and training procedures. California Tribal Business Alliance Members Remit $25 Million to State

Five California Indian tribes, all members of the California Tribal Business Alliance, today remitted $25.2 million to the state, their quarterly payment to finance a transportation construction bond. The payment brings the tribes' total payments to the state to more than $126 million since the amended compacts took effect a year ago. Dated October 3, 2005
